Speech of the Secretary-General of the Peace Organisation for International Development on the occasion of International Labour Day - May 1 Dear Brothers and Sisters, On the occasion of International Workers' Day, I extend my sincere congratulations to all working women and men around the world, especially to our staff at the Peace International Development Organization, and to all partners in the process of construction and development. This day is not only an occasion for celebration, but also a moment to appreciate and recognize the contributions of the working person and the efforts made by millions every day to advance societies and achieve sustainable development. At the Peace International Organization, we believe that human dignity begins with empowering workers, guaranteeing their rights, and providing a fair and safe working environment. We honor all those who uphold the banner of honest work, in factories and farms, in offices and laboratories, and in the fields of education, health, and construction. Today, we renew our commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at promoting social justice, equality, and equal opportunities, as they are essential pillars for achieving true peace and comprehensive development. On this day, we stand in reverence for the souls of all those who sacrificed their lives for a living, and we renew our pledge to continue working for a world where workers' rights are protected and their humanity is respected. Happy New Year, and all the best and respect for the sacrifices of the working person. Youssef Al-Karbouli Previous Next
